In the Verkhovna Rada, a group of people's deputies came up with an initiative to establish the Day of Ukrainian borscht.
The corresponding draft resolution No. 6361 "On the establishment of the Day of Ukrainian borscht" was registered on November 30.
At the moment, the text of the draft has not been made public. The document has been submitted to the for review.
Among the initiators of the draft resolution are the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy Nikita Poturayev and his deputy Yevgenia Kravchuk.
As noted by one of the co-authors of the project, a deputy from the "Golos" faction Olga Stefanishina, the project proposes to celebrate the Day of Ukrainian borscht annually on the second Saturday of September.
On this day, they propose to hold festivals, competitions, lectures and discussions about the phenomenon of Ukrainian borscht. It will be discussed in schools, catering establishments and cultural institutions.
